The tarot reader and the machine learning engineer are in the same business: pattern recognition, probability, interpretation. Only one of them gets to call their black box a science.
In this session I draw the Marseille Tarot live, in front of the audience, while the Digital Witchcraft Oracle runs in parallel. The oracle is a JavaScript instrument I wrote by hand. It composes divinatory texts and images from a corpus of dream testimonies and geomancy coordinates. The subject of the reading is Sam Altman. His future is, in a concrete sense, also ours.
The audience reads with me. Cards and oracle are interpreted together, in the room, in real time.
The session opens with digital artisanship: small, surreal, non-extractive software made as craft, against the industry's demand for scale.
